Our Team
Collin McConnell
I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist in Mobile since earning my master’s degree in 2011, supporting children across a wide range of developmental needs. Over time, I focused my continuing education on helping children build behavioral and social-emotional skills through a cognitive behavioral approach. My experience as an ABA teacher, working under a Certified Behavioral Therapist, deepened my understanding of effective strategies for behavior support.
I expanded my training to include multisensory techniques such as the Orton-Gillingham method for reading, writing, and spelling, the Integrative Listening Program, and Expanding Expression—a multisensory approach for enhancing oral and written expression. Additionally, I am trained in Interactive Metronome, Social Thinking, and the Zones of Regulation, among other specialized
areas.
Through my work, I recognized that many challenges children face are deeply connected to the brain-body relationship. As teachers and parents increasingly sought support, I pursued further training in brain integration strategies, sensory regulation, and primitive reflexes to offer a more comprehensive approach.
Feeling inspired to create something new for our community, I founded Mobile Kid Company. Our goal is to be a resource for parents seeking opportunities for their children to build foundational brain skills, develop social-emotional regulation, and grow through engaging, purposeful classes. We’re passionate about providing a space where children can develop essential skills to support their overall growth and well-being.
Maiben Martin

Meet Maiben Martin, our Social-Emotional Teacher at Mobile Kid Company - we are thrilled to have her on the team! Maiben graduated from St. Paul’s Episcopal School in 1991 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Human Development from the University of Alabama. She furthered her studies at Samford University, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
With over 15 years of experience teaching and working with children from ages 3 to 7th grade, Maiben has dedicated her career to nurturing young minds. For the past 7 years, she has served as Kindergarten support at St. Paul’s Episcopal School, where her passion for education and child development truly shined.
Maiben’s commitment to guiding children goes beyond the classroom. She is deeply invested in helping children and their parents find the best educational paths, empowering each child to reach their fullest potential.
As a mentor and educator, Maiben shapes young lives and fosters a love for learning.
Outside her professional life, Maiben is a proud parent of two boys who are currently following in her footsteps at the University of Alabama. She is passionate about creating positive learning experiences and believes in inspiring children to grow into their best selves, both academically and personally.
